Fathers Day Weekend

What a great weekend! From the time I got off work Friday, till the time I laid my head down to sleep Sunday... was really good. For starters, I am getting off work around 3 or 4 in the afternoon.... now that alone makes me happy enough to turn flips, considering the amount of hours I was working. Shelly had to come pick me up from work Friday cause earlier in the week, I accidentally broke my drivers side window... so while that was getting repaired, we took a little cruise around Concord where we use to stay for old times sake and then ran a few errands.
Saturday was a blast because motocross riding at Andrews Motorsports was at its best. With all the rain we had through the week...with a little disking and churning, the track was premo. After putting in some hard motos at the track I came home for a little while and went back to Concord to meet up with some riding friends for dinner and listen to a band.
Sunday was a special day all by itself. I shouldn't have to explain that one since it was Fathers day but since I'm such a nice guy, I will spill the beans.... Shelly and I got up and went to church and then loaded up our bicycles and headed for L.A.N.C. In case I threw you off a little bit there, what I meant was Lilesville Area North Carolina. We spent some time with Mom and then took off riding our bicycles to town like my family use to do when I was growing up. While we were out we even stopped and watched a few trains go by and then came back home for some good ole country cooking.
Now that I think about it, I believe I got a good dose of almost everything I enjoy... I mean I got in some good riding, listened to a good band, learned something at church, got to spend time with Mom and Shelly and I did a little cycling around town like I use to do back in the good ole days... There was only one thing missing that would have made this weekend a perfect 10 and we all know who that would be don't we.. Mr. P.F.B. That's Mr. Pearl Franklin Bunn. Although he wasn't their in person he was their in spirit. As long as my heart is beating then so will his cause that is where he will always be. In other words let me put it to you this way;

  1. price of 2 Bojangles sandwich combos before heading to Lilesville = $10.23
  2. tank of gas before heading to Lilesville = $40.50
  3. spending time with family and reliving the old days of growing up = priceless

  1. Thanks for the great time in Lilesville. I love my new bike and cannot wait to get out riding again.
