A few photos from Charlotte

One of my classmates wanted to borrow my camcorder for her last school project and since she was headed uptown, I thought I'd tag along for some photos.

The making of my latest moto-video

I got the green light to do another motocross video for my last school project and as odd as this may sound, I ran into several roadblocks just like last quarters video... only this time they were a little different. I checked the weather for that weekend and it all looked to be sunny skies and even had a school camera locked in to rent over that weekend. My instructor always said the end of the quarters are kinda crazy with all the classes wanting to rent cameras. So Friday after work, I ran out to school to pick it up. Just before calling it a night, I thought I would check everything over and make sure the battery was at full charge. Nothing like going to film with a dead battery huh!! Well, my first stumbling block. There was NO BATTERY... and it was way to late. I called the school hoping they would have another battery for times like this... another dead end. Good thing I bought a small camcorder several years ago or else I would have been up the creek. So I had to film everything with my small camera which isn't bad but compared to the school cameras mine was almost a waste of time. Well once I got there and started to film, the track got a little dried out and it got pretty dusty there for a while and my camera was starting to flicker a little... with a note saying the heads need to be cleaned. I thought ... Oh great... I don't have enough footage yet... so I blew into the tape area and that seemed to make a difference. To top it off, my camera has the record button close to the hand grip and sometimes I have this habit of accidentally hitting record while I'm walking around. It just happened to be as I was going for an interview too, so once I got there and set the stage, I went to hit record and yes... I was actually turning it off. What a bummer. So I just tried to make the best out of what I had. Next thing you know, the more I played with the clips the more I started to like the way it was turning out and then once it was all said and done, I had a good video, or at least I thought. Now that you know what I went through to get this video completed... why don't you have a look for yourself... it is next in line. Enjoy... The adrenaline of motocross.

A few photos from the land of... Pawleys Island

Once Shell-Bell and I got home from our long-awaited...very-much-so-needed vacation from the beach, I went straight to my computer to start loading my photos. After going through every single picture I started to narrow down the ones I wanted to keep. I winded up with 478 keepers. Here is just a hand full of some of my keepers. Hope you enjoy!

After discovering this tree with a thousand roots, I also discovered these ugly son-of-a-guns. I bet there were more than a hundred of these crabs running around. I'd hate to get stuck in the sand with all these jokers.

Happy Birthday Pearl

Saturday June 21st. I am gonna do something special this year for dad. First of all, I'm gonna pretend that everyone knows that videography is something that I've fallen in love with and want to pursue a career in... if not there you go. I've been holding on to this idea for a while now and what a perfect day to get started on this project like Saturday June 21st 2008. The gift will be a documentary about the life of my dad...Pearl Bunn. I started going around to different places Saturday to get some footage to use but this part of the filming is the easy part. I will start making my appearance back in Lilesville from time to time to get some interviews from different folks that knew dad. Lastly, I hope to get some VHS tapes from my sisters for some footage that will add the magic touch. I feel that this will have an incredible impact... not only on myself but the people that knew dad and his character. If I can pull this off, my hopes are to have the video finished by late September in time for the 2008 Bunn reunion. I'll have to play this one by ear since school is my priority. If I can get all of this done, it will be a gift that keeps on giving. Happy Birthday Dad. Your legacy shines brighter and brighter every day and that's what I want to bring out. On Saturday June 21st, dad would be 80 yrs old.

A letter from the shores of Huntington Beach...

Oh my goodness...this week is going by soooo fast. Whoever said that time flies when your having fun obviously knew what they were talking about. What else would you expect though, we've had nothing but fun since we got here. I remember leaving work Friday a week ago thinking...man I'm so glad it's time to head out to the beach. Now here it is Thursday afternoon...and I'm laying out on the beach soaking up the sun and feeling the breeze... listening to the ocean waves crash and watching the sea gulls go by. Ah... this is so relaxing. This has been such a great week for both if us cause we've been so tied up with everything. In fact we've been so relaxed this week that if you were on the outside looking in at us, you might think we were a couple of dead beats. Me being crazy with school work and projects and Shelly being crazy with work can have that effect on you. There were several times this week when we were just zoned completely out... almost like we were mute or something.

It's kinda sad to think that once we leave the beach today it will be the last time we get to do this for a while. Shelly and I are very fortunate to have her parents open there home to us anytime we want to come down but it still takes a little saving and planning to make a week long trip down. Since we've been here... laying out on the beach has been our biggest time consumer but we did go to the Yorktown aircraft carrier for the day on Wednesday. Gosh we have such a good time when we visit these places. Pawleys Island is such a nice place to be. I've also been able to capture a beautiful sunset and a full moon and many other sites this week. The one and only thing I don't like is when we have to leave. You leave this time of fun and adventure to go back home to your ordinary routine of work... and most of all, Shelly says goodbye to her parents which is completely understandable. Well, guess I'll wrap this up. The breeze is blowing my paper up making it aggravating to write and I think we are gonna grab some late afternoon lunch before we call it a day here at the beach. Stay tuned for a ton of pics. I took over 600 but I'll just post a few of the ones I like the best. By the way... did I mention what a great week we had here at the beach...

The Bunny Show

I've been doing a lot if thinking here lately about my writing and this is what I have come up with. You know, I've been writing for the past 18 months and I have always been kinda stressed about using proper grammar, do I have any words misspelled, does this sound right, etc. From the moment I started, I always wanted to sound professional in everything I wrote but you know... now that I think about it... who gives a rats crack. Let me just give this announcement now while it's on my mind. This is the bunny show... and on this site is where you will find slang talk, an occasional misspelled word and more than likely, a butt load of improper grammar. As far as being professional about writing and choice of words, I am heaps better that what I use to be thanks to Shelly and school but here... the bunny show... the heck with that. There is a time and a place for everything but this is where we (viewers and I) take it down a notch. I will correct any misspelled words I catch but more than anything else I'm gonna write as I see it. If I didn't, it wouldn't have my character. So let me get my dadgum butt up from here and go to bed... I am still on vacation.

Happy Fathers Day

First of all...Happy Fathers Day to all the dads. I have a story in the works for the one and only Pearl Bunn... the best dad in the world... but for now, I thought I'd share something else with you. A few days ago, Shelly asked me if I had a hard time with Fathers Day since my dad passed away. My answer, no... and the reason? You see... dad wasn't just a Fathers Day dad, he was a year round dad. Do I miss my dad on Fathers Day? You better believe it... but I miss him year round just as much as I miss him on Fathers Day. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about dad and some of the crazy names he would be calling me when I tease with him. Nowadays... as I sit here starring into this monitor, I think about what life would be like if he were still here. At the time of his passing I was 19 years old... and now I'm 33. You know, there is so much I could tell you about dad but if I told you everything, I would never finish. There is one thing though...dad was more of a father than a son could ever ask for. His legacy lives deep within my heart and I will never forget that man for as long as I live.

Happy Fathers Day Dad.

Vacation

Ah... my 3rd quarter is over...school is out for a month... and my Shelly-button and I are taking a week off for some rest and relaxation at the beach. We three Bunns made the trip down to Pawleys Island Friday night. While I'm here I am gonna try to catch up on some writing and capture as many photos as I can to share with you. We are between Georgetown and Myrtle Beach so that shouldn't be a problem. Until then, I 'm gonna shut this puppy down and we'll talk at ya next week. I'm ready for the beach sun to shine on these Bunns!!!

Don't you love it when...

  • your bored or seem to have a lot on your mind and someone you care about calls you.
  • you catch all the green lights going through town or on your way to work.
  • you put on that old winter coat and find money in the pockets.
  • you get on myspace and see you have messages and a friend request.
  • you find an empty check out lane at Walmart.
  • you go out shopping and find all kinds of good sales.
  • you wake up around 3 am thinking it's about time to get up and notice you have a few more hours to sleep.
  • you get to laughing so hard that your stomach starts hurting.
  • those jeans that were so tight on you before are now fitting loose.
  • you have a free morning to sleep in as long as you want.
  • you look at your watch and notice that time is flying and it's Friday.
  • you ask for a single scoop on an ice cream cone and they give you a scoop the size of a shovel.
  • holidays land on the end or beginning of the week so you get a long weekend.
  • and for all you lovely ladies out there... don't you just love it when someone (especially your spouse) notices and comments on all the hard work you put in painting your cute little toes.....

Don't you hate it when...

  • it's time to fill up with gas.
  • you pour some milk in your cereal and then discover the milk is sour.
  • you see a red light and you think it will turn green before you completely stop and then you come to a complete stop. A split second later it turns green.
  • when someone tells you they'll call you back and never do.
  • you forget your cell phone at home.
  • you see a suspicious car coming up behind you cause you were speeding a little... could it be a cop.... nope, it's an 80 year old lady.
  • you're running a little late for work and didn't have time to eat breakfast and there is a line up to the door and the drive thru is all backed up at the one and only restaurant.
  • you're listening to your favorite CD and it starts skipping.
  • your waitress or waiter doesn't keep your drink filled when you are eating out.
  • you have to pee in the middle of the night.
  • hit your funny bone or stump your toe.
  • you have butterfingers and drop everything you grab.
  • you can't think of someones name and you always say... if you didn't ask me... I could've told you the name. By the way, why is it always on the tip of your tongue?

Meet Gary

Let me introduce you to the newest member of the jungle around here... he goes by Gary. I caught Gary running around a few days ago and then gave the naming pleasures to Shelly... and Gary is what she wanted to name this guy. A little strange but that's ok. If it was up to me, I would've probably named it Gilbert or something. So we have Gary the green lizard...Spike the Caterpillar...Hooty the owl and Ralph the squirrel. Am I missing anyone?
