The status quo

Ever heard the phrase... " when it rains, it pours"? Well that was sorta the case for me yesterday morning. I say sorta because it really could have been much worse. In fact, I'd have to say that with everything that took place, it all worked out pretty good. Here is how it went.

I've started working at school at our cage, which is our room that handles prints and camera rentals and since I have my own transportation, I usually come in on the morning shift. First and foremost, that means my sleeping in days are completely gone for three days! For the record, that comment has nothing to do with this story but I just had to throw that in there.

Okay, back to raining. I'd have to say that a light rain is about all I can give this situation with the way everything went. I went outside to start my truck up and all I got was a click. Not too good! Especially since I had to be at school to open up the cage. So I tried it again hoping it was just me being fooled by the zombies that rides my shoulders of a morning. Still nothing.

After calling in to notify my boss, I waited around till Auto Zone was open so I could have the battery checked. My battery was just a little over a year old and my warranty was still good but for them to replace it, they had to charge it and then check it.

About 10:30 am I got the call saying that it was just corroded and the battery was fine. By this time I had already made the call back to school asking if I could just come in on my night shift instead of coming in for 2 hours. On Thursdays I open the "print cage" at 7:30 am and stay till 1 pm and then that night at the "camera cage" from 7 pm till 10 pm.

So I'm hanging out at the house getting some work done and decided to run out and grab some grub for Shell- Bell and myself. I open the door to my truck and click! Nothing! All I can say is thank you the Lord, cause Shell-Bell can work from home if she needs to. I called my mechanic and took it over to see what else could be wrong. Turned out to be a bad wire connection and in five minutes, I was back to running again.

This would've been a real mess if I had a class to go to instead of work or if I decided to just start my truck as I'm ready to leave.

I've got to hand it to Ole Jimmy at Jimmy's Automotive. He knows what he's doing that's for sure!
