New every two

It never fails, I always seem to give in every time the offer comes around. I say to myself... "now I really don't need anything else. What I have is fine". Next thing you know... I've given in and it's all over. I'm talking about my cell phone.

My cell phone provider allows me to upgrade to a new phone every two years free of charge or I can get a more expensive phone for a huge discount... if I re-sign another two year contract. "If"... is the word of emphasis here. I use to get a letter in the mail but since texting is so popular these days, I get a text to go along with that letter. So that is where I'm at now. I just recieved the text yesterday.

Every year I say the same things to myself over and over and it's true. I have absolutely no use for a newer phone. I'm not in to the Blackberrys and I'm not someone that does a lot of texting. A phone that allows me to say hello-goodbye-whatch doin... those kinds of things is all I need. Even though I know this, I'll still shop for a new phone. That just it though. Having a new or different phone is what makes me pull the trigger.

Speaking of cell phones- have you ever thought back to lets say... 10 years ago. Cell phones were noting like they are now. Heck I didn't even have a cell phone most of the time. I remember a time when having a bag phone looked like you were some big shot of a huge operation or president of some big company. Good lord we've come a long way fast. Nowadays even elementary students have cell phones. I didn't really jump on the cell phone wagon till around 2001. Now Id feel like something is missing if I didn't have my cell phone on me.

There also use to be a time when I was good with remembering phone numbers... now I have a hard time remembering my own dadgum number. All because I can store literally hundreds of numbers in my phone.

Well that's my spill on cell phones. I guess I'll say goodnight but before I do anything else I think I might just head on over to verizonwireless.com to see what's available.
