Just thought I'd check in while I had a little time. I'm still going to keep my blogging a little on the low side since I still have a few more weeks till this quarter is over. Once I get a break from everything that is going on school wise I'll try and catch up on as much as I possible can.
There has been a ton to things happening but as I've said a hundred times before, I just have my hand in several jars of candy and it can really absorb a serious amount of time. I have found yet another program that I've fell in love with and when you have these introduction class, things can get carried away quickly.
On another note I registered for classes next quarter and had a big reality check. I have 5 classes left and that means that I will have to take 3 classes next quarter and then 2 classes my final quarter. So in 2 quarters I will be finished!!! It doesn't seem like it should be over yet. I guess what I'm saying is that from here on out till I graduate, the bunny show may have to take a back seat. My portfolio prep and then portfolio classes have a reputation of being ridiculously heavy and from what I've seen out of the folks that are in that class, I'd say that would be correct. Who knows, maybe I'll start writing when I'm here at the cage (print and camera rental lab) since that seems to be the only time I can hang out on the computer. I tried to use this time to do school work but that doesn't work that well. Lots of distractions around here with students needing cameras and everything else.
Well, my shift is almost over here so I am going to get my stuff ready to head out for a quick lunch and then back again for class.

Where am I ?
As I was sitting here at my desk doing some homework, a really heavy thought just brushed through my mind. It was like a vision or something flashed before me and then went away. So since everything is still fresh in my mind, I'm going to go ahead and post it now.
I've been in school now since October of 2007 and since then I've dealt with some serious pressure. Most of it was mainly me. I guess I just expect a lot out of myself.
So where am I going with this? My journey through this thing called college is winding down. When people ask me how much longer I have, I just say one more year... but here it is the middle of February and before you know it, this quarter will be over. I see things a bit different. After this quarter is over, I have 2 more quarters and then it's portfolio time... which is the last class. And boy is it a big one!
My journey through school has been teaching me every aspect of web design or any other type of media design that may come my way. My first year has been pretty much the process or the steps needed to take before you even begin any computer design, and now I am finally in the nitty-gritty phase. The designing part. This is what I've been waiting for and now it's here... and it's time to rock-n-roll.
See for me this stuff doesn't come that easy. This is something that I fell in love with about a year before I even started school. So I am definitelly craming in a ton of information. As I've said before, the Art Institute doesn't mess around. You have to get it and try to keep up. This type of media is not something you can do in a small time frame either. Creativity is an on-going thought process. Course we are provided with all the sites and everything else you can think of to stay on top of everything. But it can be a bit overwhelming if your not careful.
Now it is time to apply everything I've got towards this next and last year. I am excited about everything I will walk away with once I graduate. Once my time is finished, I will have my own CD cover, CD case, book of all my work, prints of all my work, a letterhead, and a live, on the web... working website. And enough confidence to walk through a brick wall.
With that being said I may need to step away from blogging for a while just to focus all of my attention towards school. It's hard enough having to work two jobs. Oh by the way... well I'll wait on that one. A little secret I'm about to execute to preserve more time to learn and study. I'll wait till after it's all said and done before I write about it.
You see... I was raised by two of the best parents in the world. They taught me so much about life in general that I had to grow up to understand it all. The one thing I have learned about myself is that failure is not an option. I put pressure on myself because I get satisfaction out of doing good work and illustrating a strong concept... whatever that concept may be. I just cannot live with sloppy work. That is why I will burn the midnight oil over and over just to learn something new.
I feel that my hearts desire is film making and photography but I still have a passion for web and right now that is where my focous needs to be. After this journey is over and I am squared up with work, I am going back for my associates in the video department. It's a long journey... but it's a short life!
So... once I get a spare moment I will try to check in and post some work or pictures but I may be MIA (missing in action) for a little while. At least until I'm between quarters on break or either I am caught up of everything.
Until then.

What a day
Here we are and it's mid terms already. Man how time flies. Well I'm gonna keep this as short as possible. Not only is it Friday but it's Friday the 13'th and tomorrow is valentines day. That's almost a mix up like the other week. Snowing one day and then 70 degrees 3 days later. I just had to throw that in there ya know.
Friday nights have become my time to relax and wind down a bit. I always feel a bit wore out from working both jobs and then classes on top of them. My work at school starts at 7:30 Wednesday morning. On Thursdays is when I have a full day. I open the print cage and work till 1 pm and then hang out for six hours before I go to the camera cage and stay till 10 pm. So that means I'm at school from 7:30 am to 10 pm. Then on Fridays I have to open the camera cage and stay till 10:30 am and then class from 1 pm-5 pm. By the time I get home I am beat.
Well that's all for know. Like I said I'm completely wore out. I'll check back in before next week. Before I go, I wanted to mention that I might not be posting very much in the next several weeks. I have a few more silly photos of the squirrels around here but for right now that's about it. Classes are getting a little heavy and I'm focusing almost all of my attention there.
So... I hope you all have a wonderful valentines day and don't eat too much candy!

Rant & Raving
Fresh into 2009 and I finally gathered my first list of complaints. Here is my observation!
I'm driving down 485 on the way to work and it hit me like a brick. What freaking moron thought 485 South bound would be adequate with only two lanes? Seriously, what ding-dong would approve of this?
Lets start from the beginning. It was around the late 90's when this stretch of Interstate started being paved. Not the 50's, the LATE 1990's. My question is why would you build a two lane Interstate leading into the Ballantyne area and then to Interstate 77 which goes towards the city of Charlotte knowing there will be growth. These where and still are growing like wildfire and to top it off there are exit ramps and merge lanes every few miles of this stretch. Lets just say from Independence Blvd to South Tryon, 485 is a joke! That stretch is extremely busy. Even Interstate 77 is a parking lot going into Charlotte and it's what... 3-5 lanes wide?
The North bound lanes of 485 from Independence to Interstate 85 are all 3 lanes except for about 2 miles and on the South bound lane (the one I'm griping about), it goes to 3 lanes right after South Tryon (49). The areas that have been blessed with 3 lanes have a nice flow of traffic. There aren't too many merge or exit sections either.
See what I mean. You take an area that will be really heavy with traffic, there is merging and exiting traffic every few miles and we get 2 lanes. Freaking morons!
Most North Carolina folk are poor drivers (my opinion) anyway and God forbid some hot chick be stranded on the side of the road. People have to do that thing called the rubber neck and while they do it they slow down.
So there you have it! I realize there are crowded roads all over and around the city but this one section of 485 seems really crazy to me. Just to let yo know I've been on both sides of 485 during rush hour and where there is 3 lanes you have a nice flow but the section I'm talking about is pretty darn heavy. Surely they will pave another lane here shortly don't you think???
Yeah right! Don't hold your breath!

Puppies
I visited a motocross track this Saturday with some friends and found these little cuties running around. There are six of them and there free too so if you want one, hit me up on an e-mail and I'll give you the directions. Not sure what mix they are but they will make your heart melt!
