Looks like we are getting some good rain today. Days like this make me feel lazy. I get to thinking about having a cup of coffee and watching a movie with my sugar pie-love muffin-Shelly button. Ah.. the sound of rain is so relaxing. Talking about the sound of rain, I never will forget when we lived in the Concord house. I had just bought a Boston Terrier for mom and we were going to surprise her the next day with him. That night came a hard thunder and lighting storm with heavy rain. Since BJ (buster junior) was just a puppy and in strange territory, we decided to put him in the bed with us and just cuddle with him a little. The Concord house was an old 2 story farm house with a tin roof and when it rained... it was sooo relaxing. I remember Shelly getting up and pulling up the blinds and we 3 Bunns watched the lightning pop across the field and enjoyed a cozy night while little BJ was tucked in between us. I miss living there so much but unfortunately it was just a rental house. I am thankful though for all the good memories I have there.

You decide!

As Shelly and I were on our way out to grab something to eat, we got behind this van... and I couldn't resist taking a picture of this. Really... how ignorite can you be. I could go on and on about things like this but for now, I'll just leave it for another story. Here is the just one example of what I call... the "epitome of stupidity". In case you are wandering what I'm talking about... allow me to read a couple of bumper stickers on this van. First of all, click the picture to enlarge so you can see a little better. On the bottom right... a sticker reads...BOYCOTT CRUELTY, GO VEGAN. Then the one below it says...Heart Attacks, Gods revenge for eating His animal friends. Now if you look at the passenger side of the van right above the outside mirror you will notice the passengers hand hanging out the window with a cigarette. Do you see what I'm talking about now?
Our Saturday evening cookout
As warmer weather approaches it is this time of year when we take the cover off the grill and throw on a few burgers or steaks (or whatever your taste buds are telling you) and play chef while we watch our USDA meat go from rare to well done. In my case it will be medium well or well done. I don't mind seeing a little pink inside the meat but to much and it plays with my head a little. Anyhoo, get your plate and pull out a chair cause it's that time of the year when a cookout with some good old fashion family and friendly fellowship is at hand. Mmmm, I can smell them burgers grilling though the monitor.

Another new look
What the heck. I sit here sometimes thinking about how I would like to have a change of color more often but I get a little carried away with it, so for now I thought I'd default back to a solid color. Hopefully before long I'll start making my own blog pages. Wanna know how web pages are built? Just click on view and then source and then your computer should bring up a text editor on the scripting language that was used to build that web page.

Remember these
A big purple flower
That's just what it is... a big purple flower... with a shade of a brown and a hint of yellow. Wouldn't you agree!

Guess hooty's back
Just the other day Shelly-bean and I were out in the yard and guess who was out. Kinda strange though, I thought owls hunted at night... oh well doesn't matter... I don't care either way but I'm glad Shelly got a chance to see this big guy. This fella seems to navigate between ours and the two houses on both sides of us. One thing is for sure, the birds that like to hang out around the house seem to have some issues with hooty. Every time we see this owl there are several birds flying around him going nuts. Almost like there trying to run him off. I've never seen an owl this close before but it is creepy when you get up close to look at him and his neck turns completely around and stares at you for minutes at a time.

My real space
Isn't it funny how time changes everything. I use to spend almost all my time outside when we lived at the farm house in Concord. That was also before I fell in love with computers and photography. Let me rephrase that, I've always had a passion for photography but I just never had a camera to do the kind of photography I wanted to do. Now that I am in school I have found several things that I have a passion for. To make a long story short, I pretty much live out of my computer room. We just bought a laptop and that has been nice but the real touch has been the addition of my new iMac computer from Apple. Oh she is a beauty! I told Shelly-button that the value of the house just went up because there is a Mac living within the walls. Since I plan to make a career out of what I'm doing these days, I thought it would be a good idea to invest in a Mac and the programs I use at school. This way, I can stay home and do my homework instead of going to school all the time. It also means I can start making all the videos I can stand. Oh yes... it is on baby. As a matter of fact, final cut pro is loading right now. Oh and the motocross stickers that I use to put on the back of my truck... well lets just say I got a few Apple stickers with my computer purchase! It's ok go ahead and say it... here let me say it for you. I am a bonified geek... and proud of it.
I'm hooked on MySpace
I think Shelly is officially hooked on MySpace. Once I got home and started reading some emails, Shell-bell walks in and sits at the other computer and gets on MySpace. Wanna know what she said... Aw man.... I don't have any messages from anybody. I thought that was so funny. She is actually enjoying being on MySpace. I thought this would be another case of her really not into it...kinda like her blog. She must be doing something right. You can see how many times people has viewed your page and hers has almost caught up with mine. I have around 475 hits which is basically nothing compared to my cousin TR. I have been on MySpace for about a good year. Shelly just started about a month ago and she already has around 150 hits. What's up with that! It doesn't matter. I'm happy she found something to play on while I spend my life at school. Way to go Shell-bell.
New Colors
I decided to give this blog a new look. Basically all I done was change a few colors. I thought it needed a little pizazz. I don't won't you to get lazy while reading. The colors may not match up the greatest but I kinda liked the mix of colors. As a designer, I am learning that sometimes you want things to stick out and grab your attention. So I thought this would help just a tad. Maybe next time I will put in orange and purple...

Meet Spike
So I name every creature that roams around here at the Bunns cabin of coziness! SO WHAT!! I call it the circle of life. As long as whatever it is does not damage or harm anything around here, were good to go. Now if I see a spider or snake or something like that... you might see some pics but you won't here me talking like this. Anyways, lets get back to the little cute caterpillars, I'm starting to get the creeps already just thinking about spiders. I stepped in a huge pile dog crap trying to get Spike here to show off for me a little... (thanks Jack) but it's alright I guess. I suppose it's bound to happen sooner or later... just not on my good shoes.
Hooty Hoo
I was on my way to school the other week and as I was about to get into my truck, I noticed something in the tree. We've been hearing this crazy joker for a long time now and he finally decided to show his face. I had my camera with me so I was able to get a few shots before he took off. I was actually hoping he would take off so I could see how big he really is. This was such a cool site. It was so overcast that morning but I was able to get several shots. I went behind him to get a few and the son of a gun turned his head completely around and looked down at me. I guess he was trying to find some lunch. I wish he would have found the grub he was looking for cause that really would've been a cool site to see before my eyes. Imagine an owl this big swooping down about 40 ft in front of you. Now that would be wild!

Rock of Love
Not sure if you 've been keeping up with Bret Michael's Rock of Love but tonight was the night that he made his final decision on who was going to be eliminated. I really could care less for all the reality TV shows that are on television these days... unless I'm the camera man or I have a part in editing the clips...
but Rock of Love... hey everybody has there silly TV shows they like. I'm gonna be honest with ya here, I wish I would have kept up with whose staying and whose being eliminated but I hardly ever watch any TV any more. Anyhoo, it was down to Daisey and Amber. Well...like I said, I haven't been watching the show lately so I had no idea what these girls were like. The final hour was at hand and who did Bret choose.... Oh I was loving it.... the flowers were all spread out... there was this intense music playing... the tears were flowing from both chicks... they were all dressed up...Well lets just say that after watching the first half of the episode, I was thinking... Ok I know who I would pick... but this is TV... anything to keep the ratings high right. Well my boy Bret chose the girl that I was hoping he would choose... Amber. Really now... I'm sure those girls had the time of there life but I bet there was a huge party with everyone that was on the show after everything was said and done. Think about it, if Amber really was his " Rock of Love" then there would be no reason to have another episode now would there. I bet if the ratings continue to stay high, there will be a commercial with Bret saying... "Hey all you single girls out there... Amber decided that this wasn't what she wanted and decided to go her way. Now I'm on the lookout for another Rock of Love..." or something along those lines... and thus, Rock of Love 3 is born. It would be cool though... if you were able to go to all those tropical islands.... Hey wait just a doggone minute here now...what in the heck did I just write about?

Beach trip 1
There is a reason why I put number 1 beside beach trip. Since Shelly's parents live in Pawleys Island we try to flock down that way as much as we can. At first I told Shell bell to go on without me but then we started looking at my schedule and seen that I was totally free... I was back on the band wagon. We had such a good time. We always say when we get there...lets make every minute count... cuz we love the beach!!!! Pawleys Island has such a relaxing feel to it... the big oak trees with the moss hanging down... just a place we enjoy going even if her parents didn't live there. We got married in Pawleys Island right on the beach where the International Waterway runs into the ocean. So with that being said... it really is a special place to us. We only had a few days but we take what we get.
Since photography has totally opened my eyes to the way I see things these days... here are a few shots that I was able to capture. As always, thanks to Roger and Karen once again for having us.

Color in B&W Photos

I love seeing color shine through a black and white photo so I thought I would sharpen my skills on this simple but amazing effect.
Some pics from the beach
I think this was Shelly's favorite. Click to enlarge... it says... SIMPLY TO THY CROSS I CLING
